The primary emphasis of the St. Catherine of Siena Blazer Sports program is to glorify God through all of our athletic endeavors. As a program, we strive to instill sportsmanship, character, self-discipline, and team work in all of our athletes.
Blazer Athletics offers the following:
Basketball (Boys & Girls - Grades 3rd thru 8th)
Our basketball teams compete in the Catholic Metro League of Atlanta (CMLA), which is comprised of 15 Catholic schools/parishes from throughout the greater Atlanta area. The CMLA is divided into two leagues (Girls and Boys) with each grade having their own division (i.e.: 3rd grade boys, 4th grade boys, etc.). Games are played on Saturdays, with practices held during the week either after school or early evening. Team Practices begin in mid-October and League Play begins in early November and run through end of January. The CMLA offers an end-of-season playoff tournament for teams in the 5th thru 8th grade divisions.
Volleyball (Girls - Grades 5th thru 8th)
Our volleyball teams compete in the Catholic Metro Volleyball League (CMVL), which is comprised of Catholic schools/parishes throughout the metro area. The CMVL has two divisions (5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th grade). SCS typically fields two (2) Blazer teams in each division. Games are played on Saturdays, with practices held after school during the week. Team Practices begin in mid-July and league play begins in mid-August and runs through end of September. The CMVL offers an end-of-season playoff tournament for teams in both divisions.
Running Club (Boys & Girls – Grades 2nd thru 6th)
Our Blazers Running Club is an exciting new program which encourages participation and fitness in a fun environment. The program consists of group runs along with running “games” and activities designed to improve the children’s endurance and speed. The program is held during the Fall and meets after school one day per week.
Summer Basketball Camp (Boys & Girls – Rising Grades 2nd thru 6th)
Basketball Camp held each June focuses on fundamental skill instruction and development. Camp consists of skill instruction/stations, daily competitions, 3-on-3 play, and full court scrimmages.
