FAQs

Every Thursday, the principal will send out an electronic newsletter (the Siena Scribe), which will include a calendar of events and other news at the school. In our efforts to be "green," these are sent via email. However, if you would prefer a hard copy, simply write a note into the office.

Yes! Before care starts at 7:00 a.m. in the morning (enter by side entrance of gym). After school care (often called "Snack 'n Yak") is offered from the end of school until 6:00 p.m. in the evening. For more information and pricing, please visit Extended Care Information.

New uniforms may be purchased online at Dennis Uniforms (school code: ECT). SCS does plan uniform fittings at the school in the summer and by appointment. Your child may try on different sizes, and someone will be available to help walk you through the different necessary items.

We generally organize a used uniform sale in the summer before school starts. Information about the sale will be sent out to all enrolled families before the sale.

On the first day of school in the gym, there will be a carpool sign-up station for families that are still in need of finding carpool buddies. If you miss the sign-up station, please contact the Front Office. A list of all families interested in finding a carpool will be sent home by the second week of school. Families can use the list to contact other families in need of carpool buddies.

HOV has priority pickup after school. If you are carpooling or have 3 or more children, your children are let out first at dismissal and get to leave the parking lot first.

Yes, every child must get a physical and a doctor to say they are in good health. The Archdiocese Student Health Form 5320 (click here to obtain the form) needs to be filled out and signed by a doctor. This form is required prior to the first day of school.

You will also need to have your child’s Immunization Record and Hearing, Vision, Dental, and Nutritional Record turned into the school as well. These are forms 3231 and 3300, which you can get from your child’s pediatrician.

You can sign up on the first day of school in the gym. Each committee will have a table with sign-up sheets on them. If you miss that day, or feel too overwhelmed, you can simply email the co-chairs of the committee that you are interested in joining. For more information on the different committees and who to contact, please visit HSA Commitees

Due to limited space in the cafeteria, we are not able to invite parents or guests to join our students for lunch. However, you are invited to volunteer to assist with lunchroom duty! Please contact the Front Office to register as a volunteer.

Depending on the needs of the teachers, you can sign up to help your child's teacher at the Back to School Night. Also, the room moms will keep you informed of upcoming events and things you can send in to help the class.

Yes! As everyone knows, there is so much work that goes on behind the scenes. Do not let that deter you from getting involved. Many volunteer opportunities (i.e., box tops or soliciting donations for the gala) do not require you to be at the school and can be done on your own time.

Yes, we have a Fun Lunch Program three days a week.  Parents can order Fun Lunches via the school from the following vendors: Chik-Fil-A, Culvers, La Parilla, Pizza Hut, and Zaxby's.  Students are welcome to pack lunches daily as well.

You can drop off the lunch and coat, and these will be delivered to your child. As an effort to teach personal responsibility, homework or P.E. uniforms cannot be dropped off for students in 2nd Grade and up.

As different seasons approach, the principal will send out information in the Siena Scribe for different activities in which your child can participate.

SCS uses FACTS to assist parents in monitoring their child's studies, schedule, and in some cases, even grades. Your child will have a personal page where you can view available information. You will be given a login and password information to access it at the beginning of the year. Some teachers will also send home a weekly packet with graded assignments and tests for parents to review.

At SCS, there are NO required fundraisers. We do strongly encourage participation in our Annual Fund. Our largest fundraiser is the bi-annual Gala held in the Spring, and some of our other fundraisers include the Book Fair and Fun Run.
